Terms of Use

Last updated: 6 August 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using RACKETREF ("the Service"), operated by the Professional Squash Association ("PSA", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

These terms apply to all users, including referees, tournament organisers, players, and spectators.

2. Description of Service

RACKETREF is an official scoring and match management system for racket sports, providing:

  • Live match scoring and refereeing tools
  • Tournament management capabilities
  • Live score broadcasting and overlays
  • Match statistics and historical data

3. User Accounts

Access to certain features requires authentication through your PSA account. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised use

Usernames

You may choose a public username for your account. By choosing a username you agree that:

  • Your username becomes searchable by other signed-in users, and your display name is shown alongside it when your username is found, so that referees and organisers can link you to matches. Your name is not itself searchable
  • Match results recorded against your username or claimed player profiles are associated with your account and appear alongside your username
  • Your username must not be offensive, misleading, or impersonate another person; we screen usernames automatically and may change or remove any that break this rule

Choosing a username is optional, and your email address is never shown to other users.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
  • Submit false or misleading match data
  • Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
  • Impersonate any person or entity

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content, is owned by or licensed to the PSA. All trademarks, logos, and brand features are the property of their respective owners.

Match data entered into the Service may be used by the PSA for statistical analysis, historical records, and promotional purposes.

6. Data Protection

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with UK data protection law.

7. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled maintenance
  • Technical issues beyond our control
  • Updates and improvements to the Service

8. Paid Plans and Billing

Live scoring, one tournament at a time and the RacketRef scorebug are free and always will be. RacketRef Pro and Enterprise are optional paid plans, bought by an organisation rather than by an individual, and cover every member of that organisation.

Payment

  • Prices are shown excluding VAT, which is added at checkout where it applies
  • Pro is billed monthly in advance and renews automatically until cancelled
  • Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details
  • Enterprise is priced by agreement and invoiced separately

Cancellation and refunds

  • An organisation owner can cancel at any time from the billing page
  • Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, so you keep your plan until then
  • We do not refund part-used months, since you keep the plan for the whole period
  • You can resume a cancelled subscription at any point before it expires

What happens when a plan ends

Your organisation returns to the free plan. Every match, tournament and result you have ever scored stays exactly where it is and remains yours. Paid features simply stop: broadcast graphics fall back to the RacketRef scorebug, API keys stop authenticating, and you return to one active tournament at a time.

Price changes

We may change our prices. If we do, we will tell organisation owners by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and you are free to cancel before it does.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service (if any)

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will notify users of significant changes through the Service or via email.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
